UAWorld autonomous drone flight

A big milestone is achieved in the UAW-project with drones for manufacturing purposes. The drone is now flying automatic based on continuous measurements from the indoor position system.
The manufacturing hall with 400+ m2 has an installment of 15 indoor GT-Position satellites enabling a very precise navigation and position determination of the drone. The position system is combined with two other sources: The actual drone controller which subscribes to the streamed position data in real time, and a scheduler which does the flight planning.
A video - see below - shows an example.

The drone is monitored in a realtime 3D environment in GT-Drone which also provides the streamed position data. Please see the GT-Drone description here:

The flight plan contains routes and obstacles in the room with coordinates in the same position system so that the drone can avoid colliding with the infrastructure.
